The way we consume information has changed radically in recent years. Smartphones revolutionised the accessibility of video, both bite-sized and episodic. The Guardian’s Chris Trimble wrote back in 2014: According to Cisco, video will account for 69% of all consumer internet traffic by 2017 and video-on-demand traffic is expected to treble. YouTube receives more than one billion unique visitors every month – that’s more than any other channel, apart from Facebook. One in three Britons were viewing at least one online video a week - a weekly audience of more than 20 million people in the UK alone. The digital landscape has evolved rapidly since then and a more recent Annual Internet Report from Cisco forecasted a monumental shift, projecting that by 2023, online videos would constitute over 82% of all consumer internet traffic.

With video, produced professionally, your content is able to compete. Video is naturally engaging and, in an age of information overload, it's vital for small businesses to offer content that’s easy to digest. If not, consumers will simply move on. If a picture paints a thousand words then one minute of video is worth 1.8 million words, so say Forrester's researchers. Little wonder then that Axonn Research found seven in ten people view brands in a more positive light after watching interesting video content from them.
